Wayne Ranson
Wayne is a Guitarist / Vocalist born in Melbourne now living on the Gold Coast.
He has played in and around Melbourne for the past 30 years in bands that range from Top 40 to Blues to Original to Dance.
Wayne started playing guitar at the age of 9 and formed his first band at 14.
He has been a member various bands that have supported many great Australian acts through the years including: Skyhooks, ACDC, Screaming Jets, Doug Parkinson, Renee Geyer, Denise Drysdale and many more. He was also chosen to be a backing vocalist for Max Pelecano “Elvis to the Max” during his stint at the Crown Casino Showroom.
Throughout his career, Wayne done various session jobs and played in a number of successful Melbourne cover bands including: Regular Boys, Demix, Framework and for ten years was Lead Vocalist / Lead guitarist with top Melbourne outfit L.A. Express.
Having the uncanny ability to sound more like Neil Diamond than the great man himself, Wayne performed the part of Neil Diamond in the Australian Joe Cocker Tribute Show “With a little help from my friends” for 2 years.
Wayne is very highly regarded within the Melbourne and the Gold Coast music industry and by his peers, as a talented musician with a professional outlook toward his career, and the ability to adapt himself to any situation and produce the goods.
